About Us
Founded in 1996 Döhle Assekuranzkontor operates as an independent marine insurance broker. We are a team of 20 insurance and shipping specialists focusing on the maritime insurance industry, serving clients with excellent claims handling and administration work as well as consulting services. In 2004 the department in charge of all non-marine and private lines was restructured and has been growing steadily ever since.
We are defined by our trusting and long-term relationships with our clients and our insurers. Our mission is to be your truly capable and professional partner not only by holding strong values but especially by delivering transparency, innovative risk management and comprehensive marine insurance expertise.

We have long standing experience and expertise in the maritime industry enabling us to minimize risk, as well as reduce the total cost to your investment or business. In cases where it makes sense or where by law a local broker is required, we have access to various competent international partners. Together with our clients we then select the risk carriers in accordance with our client’s preferences, claims handling expertise and any other requirements.
Claims Department
With a dedicated team of lawyers, claims adjusters and former seafarers, we provide 24/7 assistance for all kinds of crew and passenger injuries and illnesses, towage and salvage operations, H+M surveys and P&I advice. DAK maintains long established relationships with leading maritime law firms and survey companies around the globe which can provide further direct assistance to the master, in the case of urgency. Quick professional response to ships command and office staff in need is therefore the ultimate service DAK provides to their customers.

Maritime claims and casualties can be challenging, requiring expertise and experience. Operating as a lean and efficient organisation enables us to serve you with a 24/7 availability. We are here to offer you experienced and immediate advice when needed. At any given time our team handles the claim, together with the insurer and – if appointed – expert loss adjusters, to ensure that your claims are dealt with promptly and efficiently. We act as P&I correspondents for the majority of the International Group of P&I Clubs, which again reflects the reliability and support that can be expected from us.
